Living in the 21st century. Honestly, I think the gutter can be better than all the crap we eat by walking sheep-like on the street. But then, this is nothing but the Rhetorical-antiSocial. It's still just crap, only a different hand on the shovel..... I say the most important thing is a smile .... and thats it. -T

It's nice to know that I have a solid investor in the small business of me

Ignore the title, it's not meant for you. Not you! I wrote it for you, so you can read it :P

So DnD! yay! There has been a definite dry spell lately of this favorite of games, and it is nice to see it pick up again. I am heavily looking forward to Richard's campaign taking place this wednesday. HYUA for giant scyths!

There has been alot of talk about 'what makes a good campaign' lately. I disagree with some stuff that has been said, and I agree with some other stuff that has been said. I am going to be trying to put together a little campaign of my own pretty soon, and I will be taking much of what is said to heart. Personaly, for me the perfect campaign setting, and I have been preeching this to dave, is one where perhapse great and far-reaching things are taking place in the world around the characters, but that it is up to the characters to decide just what they are going to do about it. So the DM drops things in the character's path, like a group of soldures forcibly conscripting people around the them (and maybe them next). The characters could flee into the woods, where they would have to survive while they try and smuggle themselves across the border. They could stand and fight the force of corruption, sneeking in to the castle and disposing of the evil archmage behind it. Or they could do nothing and eventually be conscripted along with the rest, and consiquently be thrown into a war they didn't want to fight. Thats the kind of game Id like to run, or even play in. The DM should encourage radical thinking, and should reward or punish them depending on their actions in the game.

As a potential DM this method is atractive to me, as running the shifting politics of the world would add a very interesting and engageing layer to the campaign. Hmmm ... maybe I could put together a random table of faction dominances and political moves too...

not that anyone cares ... not that you should ... but more to come, and hopefully soon ;)
